The Easiest Ice Cream Ever

I kid you not when I say this is the easiest ice cream you will ever make.
Seriously.

No long-winded stories, no reminiscing the past.
This post is straightforward and to the point.
Banana. Ice cream. How simple can it get?

I'm not in the World Cup fever mood yet. Am I weird? Yeah maybe. I decided to use soccerball-shaped half glass bowls to put the ice cream in.

Okay I know this looks nothing like ice cream because I left it on the counter too long. They melted too much and I was lazy to freeze it up again. It actually looks more like custard.. Hmm.

But I really must must must reiterate the fact that this really tastes like banana ice cream! The creamy texture and the intense banana flavour without the calories and sugar! It's the healthiest ice cream you can find out there. PLUS, it doesn't compromise on the flavour. What can you expect when it's 100% made of banana??

I thought frozen fruits would all be icy. Think frozen grapes. But I guess I was wrong to stereotype like that. This is one discovery that I'm sure will change the world! (exaggerating here don't mind me)

One Ingredient Ice Cream
makes 1 serving
adapted from thekitchn.com here and here

1 ripe whole banana

1. Peel and cut the banana into bite-sized pieces.

2. Spread them out and freeze them for 1-2 hours on a plate.

3. Blend it in a food processor/blender or if you're lazy to bring out the heavy machinery, whisk it manually like what I did!

4. Scoop it into a pretty bowl using an ice cream scoop and serve. If it has gone all melty, you may want to freeze it for a few minutes to half an hour to firm it up. Or if you don't care, like me, you can stick your spoon in and enjoy your frozen delight! :D

Kudos to the amazing Faith from thekitchn.com who chanced upon this amazing sort-of recipe! I would have never thought of doing this in a million years. And I'm not exaggerating!

Would you pass the Chocolate Truffle Tart, please?

I used to have mini tea parties with my sister when we were in kindergarten/primary school.

Happy (belated) Mother's Day!

I thank God for my awesome mother.

She's like the silent, strong pillar of our house. The one who holds everything up. The one who keeps everything inside. The one who listens. The one who knows. The one who understands. The one who loves. The one who forgives. The one who makes the most sacrifices. The one who gets stressed most easily. The one who loves my molten chocolate cake. The one who relates. The one who cries silently by herself. The one who puts up a strong front.

The one whom I love dearly.

pancakes revisited

"Jie, I feel like eating pancakes (:"

It just takes one sentence to get my lazy bum off the couch and into the kitchen. Amazing isn't it?
